The Nigerian Journal of Parasitology recognises the increasing role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in scholarly communication. Authors may utilise AI tools solely to enhance language, readability, and organisation of manuscripts. However, the use of such technologies must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript under an appropriate section titled “Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies,” e.g., “We declare that the manuscript was improved in language, readability, and organisation using Generative AI - ChatGPT.”

Authors remain fully responsible and accountable for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of all submitted content, including any portion generated or assisted by AI tools. Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for the submitted work.

The Journal does not permit the use of AI-generated content that may compromise ethical standards, scientific integrity, confidentiality, or copyright compliance. Editors and reviewers are also expected to maintain confidentiality and should not upload unpublished manuscripts or peer-review materials to AI platforms.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to request further clarification regarding the use of AI tools during manuscript preparation, peer review, or editorial processing.
